For Hampton Community Pool’s last seasonal hurrah, people weren’t allowed in the water.

But given the drop in temperature prior to the morning of Sept. 7, that was fine with the folks who visited. And the ones who actually did take dips in the pool didn’t seem to mind.

Dog Swim Day provided pooches with the opportunity to swim, play with other canines and generally have a good time prior to the pool shutting down until next spring.

The people in attendance enjoyed themselves, as well, tossing balls and toys into the water for retrievers, golden and otherwise, to bring them back to dry land.

Among those making sure everything proceeded smoothly were Bill Ryder, township aquatics manager, and head lifeguard Brianna Towers. Lifeguard Abby Gregorowicz also was on the lookout.

More events in Hampton include the Wednesday afternoon farmers’ markets, which run until Oct. 9, and the year’s final Pints in the Park on Sept. 27. For more information about the township, visit hampton-pa.org.
