Hampton Community Library sets December activities schedule

Hampton Community Library is open Monday, Friday, Saturday, 9:30 a.m.- 2 p.m.; Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday 9:30 a.m.-7:30 p.m; closed Sunday. Holiday hours include Dec. 23 and Dec. 30, 9:30 a.m.-5 p.m.; Closed Dec. 24-26 and Dec. 31-Jan. 2.

Online programs

Get inspired to learn a language, flex your brain and investigate the natural world with new media kits. Follow blog posts each week for a sneak peek of new media kits available for circulation this fall: hamptoncommunitylibrary.org/blog

Music, language and culture kits

Calling tinkerers, makers and dreamers! Jump into science, technology, engineering, art & math with a STEAM Kit Don’t forget Miss Suzy and Fluffy on Facebook with more stories and bedtime fun Sunday nights at 7 p.m.

In-person programs

A new policy requires masks for all children over the age of 2 and adults at Tuesday programs. Masks not required for Thursday storytimes but recommended.

T is for Toddler, Tuesday and Thursday from 10-10:30 a.m. through Dec. 14. Join in for an autumn full of songs, rhymes and stories about letters and numbers. All ages welcome.

In Your Neighborhood, Tuesday and Thursday from 11-11:30 p.m. through Dec. 14. Join in for stories, songs, rhymes and games. All ages welcome.

Book Banter (a reading club for busy families): This month’s theme is Handmade Holiday. Read a cookbook, craft guide or one on holiday traditions. Adults and teens read a book from the monthly theme. Bring the book with you and discuss with the group. Space is limited; please RSVP by phone or in person at the library to reserve your spot.

Families with grade school-aged children and up: Dec. 22 at 7 p.m.

Families with babies and toddlers: Dec. 18 at 2 p.m.

Read and Win programs end Dec. 11.

Murder by the Book! A Mystery Book Discussion

This month’s selection is “Stillhouse Lake” by Rachel Caine. The meeting is 6:30 p.m. Dec. 15.

The Mystery Book Group will be meeting in the library. Request a book online or call the library for a copy of the book. Everyone who is interested in great reads is invited to join us.
