Hampton area coronavirus cases following national trend

As coronavirus cases begin to rise more slowly in Allegheny County and across the country, communities in the Hampton Journal area are also seeing their numbers rise less sharply.

As of Jan. 27, there have been 973 cases of the novel coronavirus in Hampton since March, according to the latest information provided by an interactive Allegheny County covid-19 map. The township has reported 11 deaths. A total of 5,130 tests have been administered to Hampton residents. Hampton’s case rate is 530 per 10,000 residents.

Since the pandemic began, McCandless has had 1,413 cases and 64 deaths. There have been 8,681 tests administered to McCandless residents, and the case rate is 497 per 10,000 residents.
