Sneaker collection

The Fox Chapel Garden Club has begun its annual collection of used sneakers to put them to good use through the NIKE Reuse-A Shoe Program.

Shoes will be collected through Sept. 29 at these drop-off locations: Body Tech; Carriage House; Lauri Ann West Community Center; Cooper Siegel Library in Fox Chapel; Fox Chapel Presbyterian Church; Fox Chapel Physical Therapy and Famous Footwear.

Old sneakers will be recycled and used to build tennis courts, playgrounds and running tracks. Cleats cannot be accepted. Gently used sneakers will be donated to Second Harvest and The Free Store.

Those with questions about the collection can reach the garden club through its website: https://www.foxchapelgardenclub.org and click on ‘Contact Us’.
