Students in the Fox Chapel Area School District will present their 33rd annual telethon 1:30 p.m. on Dec. 23 to raise money for Fox Families Care.
Fox Families Care helps bridge the gap between needs of children and families in the school district and resources.
Students from all six schools in Fox Chapel Area — Fairview, Hartwood, Kerr, and O’Hara elementaries; Dorseyville Middle School; and Fox Chapel Area High School — will be involved in the telethon.
Student, teacher, parent, and community representatives will participate by making donations during the event. The public can make donations through the following website: https://www.foxfamiliescare.org/donatenow.
The telethon will be broadcast/live streamed on the Swift Fox Media YouTube Channel at www.youtube.com/@SwiftFoxMedia/live. Anyone can watch the telethon even after the live event is over via the same link.
The telethon is coordinated by the Fox Chapel Area High School Student Government and the high school’s digital media production students, who plan and produce the event.
Fox Chapel Area School District students have donated more than $1.02 million to local and regional charities through their annual telethon over the last 32 years. Last year’s telethon for Fox Families Care raised a record-breaking total of $107,242.
Donations this year are being matched through Dec. 23 by JENNMAR; Tamco, Inc; Norman Ray Trust; and the Cleveland Family Foundation.
