A day camp will be hosted this month in Etna for area elementary school children to explore “God and His World.”

The camp will be hosted at Emmanuel Lutheran Church at Grant and Highland avenues.

It is July 29 to Aug. 2. Cost is $10.

Along with traditional activities like Bible stories and songs, there will be lessons geared toward science, art and robotics.

“Each day, we’ll open with a Bible story and follow it with group activities that demonstrate simple machines, engineering and other scientific principles,” the Rev. JJ Lynn, pastor, said.

“Children will gain an appreciation for the orderly world that God created for us to live in.”

Lunch will be served each day. Other activities include crafts, theater and martial arts.

Camp will conclude on Aug. 2 with families invited for a free dinner and an opportunity to see the week’s accomplishments, Lynn said.

This is the second year the church has hosted the Christian day camp. About two dozen campers attended in 2018.

To register, call 412-657-2652.
