Dorseyville choirs get superior rating at High Note Festival

The Dorseyville Middle School (DMS) Girls Chamber Chorus and the DMS FoxTones performed both separately and together as the DMS Combined Honor Choirs at the High Note Festival adjudication, which took place May 27, 2022, at Duquesne University and Kennywood Park.

All three groups earned the highest rating of “Superior” and were given trophies for their performances.

Choirs, bands, and orchestras from throughout the greater Pittsburgh area participated in the adjudication festival.

The Dorseyville Middle School Girls Chamber Chorus includes 30 girls in sixth through eighth grades; the FoxTones includes 15 boys in grades six through eight; and the Combined Honor Choirs, made up of the Girls Chamber Chorus and the FoxTones, includes 45 boys and girls in grades six through eight.

The choirs are under the direction of teacher Amy Beresik.
