Two men were arrested after an exchange of gunfire led to a standoff in Scott Township Sunday morning, according to township police.

Travis Coles, 30, and Ean Strimlan, 21, will be charged with three counts of simple assault and three counts of terroristic threats, Scott police said.

Coles has an outstanding warrant from Pittsburgh for terroristic threats, according to police.

According to Scott police, officers went to the 600 block of Carothers Avenue shortly before 10 a.m. for reports of shots fired. Initial calls to 911 indicated that an argument had escalated into an exchange of gunfire.

Officers found that the involved suspects had gone into an apartment on Carothers Avenue. One suspect, whom police did not identify, came out shortly after police arrived and was taken into custody without incident.

The other, also not identified, stayed inside, prompting the use of the South Hills Area Council of Governments Critical Incident Response Team.

After multiple attempts to communicate with the person inside, the suspect came out and was also taken into custody peacefully, police said.

No injuries were reported.

The incident remains under investigation, police said.
