A Churchill man was sentenced to 10 years in federal prison Wednesday on firearms and drug violations and five years probation, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Pittsburgh.

Maurice Miller, 35, had pleaded guilty on April 4 in U.S. District Court in Pittsburgh to the accusations that he was part of a conspiracy to distribute at least a kilogram of heroin, at least 10 ounces of crack cocaine, more than 100 grams of acetyl fentanyl and valeryl fentanyl, and at least 400 grams or more of fentanyl.

As a convicted felon, it was illegal for Miller to have a gun or ammunition.

Because he was arrested and jailed in November 2019, court documents stated the he could be release from federal prison in 2028, based on credit for time served and if he gets credit for good conduct, according to court documents.

Miller was arrested in November 2019 during an investigation into drug traffickers known as Hustlas Don’t Sleep, federal prosecutors said.

As part of his pre-sentencing, Miller forfeited $7,315 in cash, an AR-15-type rifle, a .22 caliber rifle and a Glock handgun, court documents stated.

His prosecution is a result of an Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force investigation. They are designed to identify, disrupt, and dismantle high-level drug traffickers, money launderers, gangs, and international criminal organizations, the U.S. Attorney’s Office said.
