South Fayette Township board of commissioners took action May 13 to extend the 2% discount period for paying real estate taxes from May 31 to Aug. 31.

From Sept. 1 through Dec. 31, taxes may be paid in full, with no fees or penalties charged, according to the borough website.

The action applies only to township property taxes of 4.73 mills. Bills were mailed out April 1.

In-person township tax collection hours are postponed until August. Until then, taxes may be paid by mail to P.O. Box 31, Morgan PA 15064.

For questions about real estate taxes, contact elected tax collector Kevin Biber at 412-221-9250.

Anyone who purchased property in South Fayette in January or February should contact Biber as soon as possible to ensure receiving a tax bill, as Allegheny County has not yet sent the needed deed transfers to local tax collectors.
