Bethel Park School District appointed Mark Korcinsky as superintendent of facilities and operations.
In his new role, Korcinsky will oversee the district’s transportation, maintenance and facilities departments. He also will be responsible for guiding the renovation of Independence Middle School and the construction of a new elementary school, scheduled for completion in 2026.
Korcinsky served as a teacher, coach, administrator and student advocate. He is a member of the Beaver Area School Board and has spent the past two years as an assistant principal at Bethel Park High School, where he played a pivotal role in securing the school’s first National Blue Ribbon Award.
Before joining Bethel Park, he held various positions in the Baltimore County, Beaver Area, Springdale Area, Hopewell Area and Seneca Valley school districts. During his tenure as Seneca Valley Senior High School principal, which spanned 13 years, Korcinsky oversaw substantial growth in educational and operational aspects.
Beyond his educational career, Korcinsky served with distinction in the U.S. Army/Army Reserve, assuming leadership roles in the Medical Service Corps and Corps of Engineers.
Bethel Park Superintendent James Walsh cited Korcinsky’s experience in education and logistics as valuable assets for his role, expressing confidence in his ability to lead the district’s operations during a critical phase of infrastructure investment and system improvements.
Korcinsky holds a bachelor’s degree in biology and secondary education certification from Mercyhurst University. He furthered his education with a master’s degree in educational administration and leadership, along with a principal’s certification from Franciscan University of Steubenville, Ohio.
He earned a superintendent’s letter of eligibility from Westminster College and his doctorate from Point Park University.
Korcinsky lives in Brighton Township with his wife, Nancy, and their two sons. He participates in the community as a volunteer coach for youth sports, shade tree commission member, Cub Scout team leader, and supporter of booster and community organizations.
He assumes the Bethel Park position following the retirement of Zeb Jansante at the end of the school year.
