Bethel Park Public Access TV received three awards out of seven nominations in October during the Fifth Annual Greater Pittsburgh Community Media Awards hosted by Pittsburgh Community Television and WTAE-TV’s Andrew Stockey.
The event was a celebration of community media producers at PCTV, Bethel Park Public Access, Moon Community Access, City Channel Pittsburgh, and Monroeville Municipal Television. It was held virtually and simulcast on TV, the web and Apple TV, ROKU and Fire TV.
“I’m really proud of all of our nominees for the Greater Pittsburgh Community Media Awards,” said BPTV director Dave Cable. “Our producers work very hard to find compelling, worthwhile content to share with the residents of Bethel Park, and it’s nice to see some of them get recognized for their efforts.”
BPTV’s winners were:
• Amy Taylor, Community, “Healthy, Fit & Strong” bee rescue at Honey Rose Ranch
• Jack Allen, Series, “Jack of All Trades”
• Andy Amrhein, Arts and Entertainment, for his “Around Town” episode featuring the work of artist Johno Prascak
BPTV nominees were:
• Diane Ford, Public Affairs, “Deep Roots”
• Amy Taylor, Faith & spiritual, “Healthy, Fit & Strong” interview with Max Shrager
• Al Levine, Sports, Health and Lifestyle, special edition of “Pittsburgh Sportsline” highlighting Bethel Park High School’s championship baseball and softball teams
• Government Content – Bethel Park Memorial Day Ceremony
BPTV also recognized production volunteer Anthony Veltri for his dedicated service to the station over the past year.
“Anthony is an integral part of our volunteer staff and has distinguished himself through his dedication to helping residents with programs, as well as producing his own Bethel Park Gamer series,” Cable said. “We’re very happy to recognize one of our own for their hard work behind the scenes.”
