A Bethel Park police officer was injured Friday night when he was hit by a vehicle and the driver is in custody, according to Tribune-Review news partner WPXI.

Bethel Park Chief Timothy O’Connor told WPXI that the officer was hit by a hit-and-run driver at the intersection of Broughton Road and Route 88.

The officer was transported to UPMC Mercy hospital and the driver was detained, police said.

This is the second Bethel Park officer in two weeks that was injured in a hit-and-run.
