Whatever folks enjoy doing on a Saturday, they were likely to find it at Bethel Park Community Day.

The Sept. 9 event featured numerous games, activities, giveaways and the opportunity to visit with friends, neighbors and representatives of a wide variety of organizations and businesses.

Beginning with a parade that launched at the municipal building and continuing to the Bethel Park High School campus, Community Day represented the culmination of a summer full of fun offered by the municipality and its parks and recreation department.

Look for more to come, including the return of No-Cook Tuesdays at the Community Center in October. Of course, that’s the month for Halloween, and Bethel Park’s Spooktacular Parade is scheduled for the morning of Oct. 28.

Then it’s not too much longer until the start of the holiday season, so get ready for the annual tree lighting and other festivities leading up to … well, some people do like winter.

But in the grand scheme of things, next summer and next Community Day are right around the corner.
