Allegheny County reports no new covid-19 deaths, 54 new cases

Allegheny County on Thursday reported 54 new coronavirus cases, according to the county health department.

Cases in the county are now up to 10,969.

No additional deaths were reported. The death total remains at 358.

The additional covid-19 cases come from 859 tests, with tests from Sept. 2-9. Positivity rate for new cases is 6.28%.

Ages of new cases range from 12 to 83 with a median age of 27. Females represent 28 of the new cases and males 26. Of the new cases, 53 are confirmed and one is probable.

The age groups of the newly reported cases are as follows:

0-4 - 0

5-12 - 1

13-18 - 1

19-24 - 13

25-49 - 30

50-64 - 7

65+ - 2

Two new hospitalizations were added Thursday, bringing total hospitalizations to 1,042.

As of Thursday, there are 66 covid-19 patients hospitalized in Allegheny County, with 12 on ventilators.

The health department now estimates 7,859 covid-19 cases have recovered, as of Thursday.

The 20-29 age demographic remains the group with the most covid-19 cases in Allegheny County, claiming 25% of cases. The next largest demographic is 30-39 with 15% of cases.

In September, the high for newly reported cases came Sept. 3 when 105 cases were reported, which was the only day thus far in the month to see 100 or more cases. The lowest number of new cases was reported Sept. 1 with 29 cases.
