Allegheny County reports 693 new covid cases, 6 deaths

Allegheny County reported 693 new covid-19 cases Tuesday, according to the county Health Department.

There were six new coronavirus-related deaths also reported.

Total cases and total deaths now stand at 34,814 and 585, respectively.

The seven-day new case average is now 830 and seven-day case total is 5,807, both records. The seven-day average and seven-day total records have been repeatedly broken over the last week.

Ages of new cases range in age from 4 days to 102 years, with a median age of 44. Dates of positive tests range from Nov. 16 to Monday. Two positive tests are more than a week old, the health department said.

Of the six new deaths reported, two were in their 70s, three people in their 80s and one in their 90s. Three deaths were associated with long-term care facilities. Dates of death range from Nov. 25 to Sunday.

As of Tuesday, there are 773 covid-19 patients hospitalized in Allegheny County, with 225 in the ICU and 121 on ventilators.
