Two men were stabbed in Downtown Pittsburgh just before 11 p.m. Thursday night, city police said.

Police on Saturday confirmed that officers arrested Christopher M. Boswell, 37, of New Brighton at the scene in the area of Sixth Avenue and Smithfield Street.

A weapon was also retrieved, police said.

According to police, officers found one man with a deep laceration and applied a tourniquet to his left arm. He was taken to a hospital in serious but stable condition.

A second man with a stab wound approached officers and was treated by medics before being taken to a hospital in stable condition.

Boswell was denied bail during an arraignment Friday afternoon and was being held in the Allegheny County Jail. He was denied bail because he was found to be a threat to the community, according to court records.

He is charged with aggravated assault, ethnic intimidation, possessing instruments of crime, criminal mischief and public drunkenness.

Boswell’s preliminary hearing is scheduled for April 25, according to court records.
