Westmoreland Walks organizers displayed their passion for fashion — and for their cause — at the second annual Passionately Pink Fashion Show, held May 11 in the Christ Our Shepherd Center in Unity.
Close to 100 ladies and a few gents gathered to see what’s hot this season from Betsy’s of Ligonier, Cabi, Crossroads Boutique & Cattiva, Descendants, MB Bride, Post & Rail Men’s Shop and Simplicity Boutique.
The guys were the first to strut their stuff, with Dirk Matson, John Munsch, Bill Brown and Scott Haines representing Post & Rail. In addition to their fashion sense, event co-chair Kathy Brown said, the four bleed blue and white as Penn State grads.
Joining Brown in organizing the event were co-chair Cheryl McMullen, Rose Buric, Rebecca Hazy, Kim Yagla, Cindy Shaffer, Cricket Rizzo, Debbie Weinstein, Wendy Lint and Connie Tamewitz.
Now in its 18th year, Westmoreland Walks was created to help Westmoreland County women through breast cancer diagnosis, treatment and life afterward.
The organization has raised more that $800,000, with $668,000 going to the Pennsylvania Breast Cancer Coalition and $35,000 to Pink Ribbon Scholarships for county high school students.
Other initiatives include an annual Spa Serenity Day for women going through treatment and Pink Ribbon Walk, scheduled this year for Oct. 5 at Twin Lakes Park.
Seen: Olga Herbert, Yvonne Stack, Annie Urban, Pam Stablein, Malinda Sherid, Tracie Elliott, Patty Elliott, Nikki Cecchini and daugther Sophia, Theresa Matson, Tommie Korneke, Pat Majcher, Mary Ann Calabrase, Sue White, Colleen Suchko and her daughter Olivia Suchko, the 2018 Miss Pennsylvania USA.
