The Loyalhanna Watershed Association’s signature fundraiser reflects its mission of caring for the region’s land and water.

Its 35th Annual Art Auction Benefit, held Oct. 26 at Latrobe Country Club, offered patrons the opportunity to bid via live and silent auctions on 32 pieces of art by about two dozen well-known area artists. The theme was “Beauty of the Seasons,” and many pieces portrayed the beauty seen year-round in the Laurel Highlands.

“We have great art and a good crowd,” said LWA Executive Director Susan Huba.

Artists represented in the live auction led by Larry Hendrick were Lynne Lockhart, Dix Baines, Nora Thompson, Stuart Thompson, Leo E. Osborne, Claire Hardy and Rita Kambic Haldeman.

Guests gathered for dinner around tables with centerpieces variously reflecting each of the four seasons, courtesy of Bob and Sally Ambrose of Ridgeview Acres Farm near Stahlstown.

Event committee members included Tammy Colt, Cindy Danchuk, Nicole Danforth, Gary Gula, Cathy Johnston, Wink Knowles, Annie MacDougall, Donna Wenzel and Josh and Ellie Penatzer.

Seen: Rachel Knowles, Stephen Huba, Steve and Peggy Hasley, James and Dianne Berardi, Richard Danforth, Hugh and Nancy Brallier, Barbara and Gene Kravits, Steven LaRue and Miranda Dixon, Pat Slack, John and Michele Nagoda, Richard and Roxane Flickinger and Robert and Susan Endersbe.
