The Humane Society of Westmoreland County’s Breakfast for the Animals turned into breakfast with the animals, as two adorable shelter puppies showed up to steal the show.
The chance to cuddle the fur babies was almost as big a draw as the gourmet breakfast buffet, served June 1 at Christ Our Shepherd Center in Unity.
The event, overseen by HSWC executive director Kathy Burkley, also featured door prizes and a basket raffle.
Westmoreland County Commissioner Gina Cerilli came away as the big winner, snagging three prizes, including a lottery ticket tree and a basket of restaurant gift cards.
Cerilli said the tickets and the restaurant cards were going to her grandmother, while the third basket was returned to event organizers for use at their next fundraiser.
