Out & About: More kudos for retiring Pitt-Greensburg president
Friends and colleagues of Sharon Smith, retiring president of the University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg, won’t just let her slip away quietly.
Accolades and appreciation were bestowed during a surprise celebration April 16, and a celebratory open house followed May 7.
Traveling from the university’s main Oakland campus for the latter event were Provost/Senior Vice Chancellor Ann Cudd and Senior Vice Chancellor/Chief Legal Officer Geovette Washington.
Serving as master of ceremonies was Steve Ryan of Fairfield, Conn., a member of the Pitt-Greensburg Advisory Board.
Smith will conclude her 12 years of service to the university June 30. The Sharon P. Smith Endowed Student Resource Fund has been created in her honor as a means of providing financial assistance to students. Funds will be given annually.
