Some lucky ladies left Westmoreland County Community College on June 20 with swanky new handbags.
They were the big winners of Heels and Handbags Designer Bag Bingo, hosted by the college’s Black Awareness Committee.
There were no heels this year, but there were plenty of chic bags to be won, from Coach, Kate Spade, Michael Kors and Vera Bradley, with styles from clutches to cross-body bags to a weekender.
In addition to 12 rounds of bingo, the event included refreshments, raffles and door prizes.
One prize of note was an Evening Out basket, full of gift cards for AMC movies, Dairy Queen, Giant Eagle, Sheetz, Hoss’s Steak & Sea House and Olive Garden. With all that loot, it was probably good for at least two evenings out.
Proceeds from the event support the college’s Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Meritorious Scholarship Fund.
Event committee members were Karen Gandy, Vicki Hricik, Gloria Cook, Cynthia
Williamson, Tim Robinson, Lori Jacobs, Tara Gandy and Carlotta Paige, with assistance from Sarahi Williamson.
