The Greensburg Art Center has the natural world covered in its current exhibition, “People, Places and Plants … OH MY!”

Featuring 70 artists, the exhibition opened with a reception Sept. 14 and continues through Oct. 18. Each of three walls in the center’s Rowe Gallery is devoted to one “P” of the exhibition’s title.

At the reception, show co-chair Rosemary Sovyak said, “Usually our shows are a little more eclectic. (GAC member artist) Sue Pollins was the brains behind the way we organized this one.”

Sovyak said that there was no age limit for participating artists, who did not have to be members of the center and were each allowed to enter two pieces. The enthusiastic response, with artists even coming from out of state, she said, “is very exciting for us.”

Visitors at the reception were given ballots to vote for their favorite piece, and those who visit the exhibit through its run also can cast a ballot. The results will be tallied with first- through fourth-place Peoples Choice Awards to be announced Oct. 19.

The awards are sponsored by Greensburg artist June Robertson, in memory of her parents, the late Thomas and Lois Drexler. Robertson contributed portraits that she painted of her parents to the show.

Co-chairing the show with Sovyak was artist Sarah Hunter.

Seen at the reception: Susan and Bill Kiren, Fred Sovyak, Bill and Bonnie Hoffman, Keith and Shirleah Kelly, Stacey Pydynkowski, Cathy Rosensteel, Tom Niggel, Michaelene McWhinney, Richard and Eileen Stoner, Anita Manoli, Suzanne Panchura, Bob Ciardi, Joan Drexler, Dennis Yates, Susan Wisneski and Jim Murphy.
