Spirit Halloween stores morph into Spirit Christmas
From ghosts to garland, scary to sparkly.
You’re most likely familiar with Spirit Halloween, the pop-up retail chain that sells costumes and decor, sometimes in vacant big store buildings. Shoppers can soon welcome the holidays with Spirit Christmas stores.
For the first time this year, some Spirit Halloween stores will transform into Spirit Christmas locations — with one set for Pennsylvania at the Millcreek Mall in Erie.
Erie will be home to one of 10 Spirit Christmas stores in the northeast, USA Today reported, including:
- Waterford, CT: Crystal Mall, 850 Hartford Turnpike
- Dartmouth, MA: Faunce Corner Shopping Center, 65 Faunce Corner Mall Road
- Brick Township, NJ: Market Place at Brick, 465 NJ 70
- Marlton, NJ: 740 Route 73 South
- Mays Landing, NJ: Consumer Square, 230 Consumer Square
- Woodbridge, NJ: The Plaza at Woodbridge, 675 U.S. Highway 1 South
- Albany, NY: Colonie Center, 131 Colonie Center
- Bohemia, NY: Sayville Plaza, 5181 Sunrise Highway
- Poughkeepsie, NY: Chestnut Plaza, 2020 South Road
Spirit Halloween will turn into Spirit Christmas at select locations this year after the Halloween season is over.

Some of the soon-to-be Spirit Christmas locations will sprout up in Spirit Halloween locations in strip centers and malls, according to USA Today.
Spirit Christmas will feature stocking stuffers, holiday apparel, gifts, decor and more, according to the new website.
The new stores will also offer free photos with Santa Claus. They’re already accepting bookings.
The Mays Landing, New Jersey store is set to open its doors on Oct. 18, and the other nine locations are slated to open in early November, People magazine reported. All locations will remain open throughout the holiday season, People said.
Spirit Halloween and Spirit Christmas are owned by Spencer Gifts.
