Buy or sell: Regent Square hosts community yard sale Saturday
In search of illuminated reindeer, a treadmill, stained glass window, kayak or a 2009 Yamaha V Star 650 motorcycle?
Stop by the Regent Square Civic Association’s annual Yard Sale.
The shopping extravaganza is 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday.
“There are some really interesting items,” said Sam Belfoure, of Regent Square, who handles social media and the organization’s website. “Some people are selling antiques. We have one resident who is selling stained glass. There are so many things that you can definitely find something you want.”
The organization represents Regent Square, which encompasses Edgewood, Swissvale, and parts of Wilkinsburg and the city of Pittsburgh. The organization meets the first Tuesday of every month.
“Regent Square is such a diverse neighborhood,” Belfoure said. “We have single people, couples, families and those who have lived here a short time and those who have lived here a long time.”
For those who pre-registered for the sale, they are permitted to include their address and add items to what’s called the “hot list.” Each homeowner can decide where to have the items — in the yard, garage, or alley.
Here is a list of what’s for sale.
The cost to register is $7-$10.
As of late Friday afternoon, 111 households planned to participate.
The event was canceled last year because of the pandemic.
“So I think people have even more stuff because it’s been two years, “ she said. “It was always a big yard sale. It will be even bigger this year.”
