Strip District restaurants to close: Cioppino and Osteria 2350
New Year’s Eve will be the last night for upscale Cioppino Restaurant & Cigar Bar as well as its less formal sister restaurant, Osteria 2350, in the Strip District.
“Unfortunately, the pressures of running a fine-dining business have become increasingly untenable,” the owners said in a social media post.
Cioppino opened in 2008, and its casual counterpart followed in 2011.
The two Italian restaurants split a building and share a kitchen at 2350 Railroad St.
Other upcoming restaurant casualties in the area include the Hard Rock Cafe in Station Square, Redbeard’s Sports Bar & Grill in Mt. Washington and Luke & Mike’s Frontporch in Aspinwall.
Vegan ice cream parlor Sugar Spell Scoops in Sharpsburg also will shut down as it pursues a new location next year.
