A couple asked a Lancaster County baker to create a wedding cake in the shape of a deer. The result has been deerly beloved on Facebook.

Pam McNeal sculpted the life-size deer at Shady Maple Farm Market in East Earl, according to the market’s Facebook page.

The couple provided the antlers but McNeal created the cake body and Styrofoam head from scratch, market representatives told FOX-29.

We don’t know how many bucks the couple paid but the deer contained enough cake to feed 250 wedding guests at the wedding held in early October.

Shady Maple Farm Market told FOX-29 it took McNeal 10 hours to create the cake.

So far, the photo has been shared more than 3,300 times on Facebook.

The market has since received requests for life-size cakes depicting a German shepherd, a labradoodle and a mallard duck, says bakery employee Ashley McComsey.
