Mustard-flavored Skittles are now a thing — if you dare.

Mustard + Skittles = uhhhh, yeah.

Yes, the snack treat that no one asked for has arrived. Mustard-flavored Skittles are now a thing — thanks to the candy brand and French’s.

It’s all a way to help promote the brands on National Mustard Day, which we all celebrate on Aug. 5 (wait, you mean you don’t?)

Described by French’s as “a confectionary classic that lives at the intersection of condiment and candy,” mustard Skittles are “a sweet and savory treat that’s sure to tang up your taste buds.”

Sadly, it won’t be in stores. It only will be available through French’s Mustard Mobile, which is stopping in just three U.S. cities — Atlanta (July 31), Washington, D.C. (Aug. 2) and New York City (Aug. 5).

But you can also enter an online sweepstakes for a shot at winning a pack.

“From Mustard Ice Cream to last year’s viral Mustard Donuts, this year marks the fifth time French’s has gone all out with unique, flavorful innovations to celebrate National Mustard Day,” Valda Coryat, North America VP of marketing for McCormick & Co., told Food + Wine. “We are thrilled to collaborate with Skittles to deliver our beloved Classic Yellow Mustard tang in a new, fun way to French’s and Skittles fans alike.”

“Skittles is always looking to inspire moments of everyday happiness and deliver unexpected ways for fans to experience the brand,” said Mars’ marketing director Ro Cheng in an official statement. “That’s why we’ve teamed up with French’s to create the first-of-its-kind Skittles that combines their tangy mustard flavor with our iconic chewy texture to deliver this unique summer treat.”

Reactions from folks on social media are, well, mixed.

“Which one of you asked for mustard skittles? I just wanna talk,” wrote Courtney White on Facebook.

Jose Angel Hinojosa wants to know, “Honestly can you TASTE the rainbow in mustard?! Asking for a friend.”

“I’ve never heard anyone say, ya know what flavor is missing? The condiment from hotdogs,” writes Stephen Montrose.

Mariah Bowline said, “I don’t know why but I signed up. The curiosity is just too strong.”

Over on X (formerly Twitter), Ewest1822 posted: “Entered. This is oddly intriguing my taste buds.”

Only time and the world’s collective taste buds will tell if this will stick around or just be a one-time venture.
