A walk to get a cup of coffee really perked up Sophia Cosentino’s mood.

The morning drink the 21-year-old from Friendship orders daily was chosen as one of 10 winners in the Dunkin’ Menu Contest.

Fans across the country were invited to create a TikTok video and tag Dunkin’ for a chance to get their signature drink on the menu just like TikTok star Charli D’Amelio, known for her dance moves.

Cosentino’s drink, The Sophia, will be available until March 24 only at the Dunkin’ on Liberty Avenue in Bloomfield. Customers will see it on the order screen as an option.

“When I walked into the Dunkin’ (today) they said, ‘Hey, you’re the girl,’” Cosentino said. “It is so exciting. I love the fact I have a Dunkin’ within walking distance.”

Cosentino, a Pitt graduate who works for the university doing research administration at a medical building in Shadyside, began making daily TikTok videos in January. She wanted to promote being able to lose weight while also enjoying foods and drinks she loves such as pasta and sandwiches and, of course, coffee.

“I show people how many points something is and how they can still enjoy foods and drinks they love in moderation,” said Cosentino, who joined WW, formerly Weight Watchers. “I want to be able to go out and have a meal of things I like. And I want to be able to drink coffee.”

Sophia Cosentino of Friendship will have a drink named after her for a week, The Sophia, at Dunkin in Bloomfield.

Her blend is a medium iced coffee with one pump of French vanilla swirl, one Splenda and skim milk.

At Pitt, she frequented the Dunkin’ on campus. In high school at Pittsburgh CAPA 6-12, the Market Square location was a favorite, she said.

“I would grab my coffee every day,” she said. “I have always loved Dunkin’s vanilla flavor.”

Cosentino said she heard about D’Amelio getting her own drink on the national Dunkin’ menu last year.

“When ‘The Charli’ first came out, I was like, ‘Wow having my name on my Dunkin’ order would literally be the peak of my career if I was an influencer,” Cosentino said in a news release. “So then when they first posted the challenge on TikTok my best friend sent it to me and was like, ‘You absolutely have to do this.”

Cosentino’s TikTok video beat out thousands of competitors, according to Dunkin’.

“Dunkin’ is just one of those reliable staples in my life,” Cosentino said. “It’s a comfort food to me. From drinking it in the evenings before a long night of studying in college, to getting it now on my way to work in the morning, to catching up over some Dunkin’ iced coffees with a friend, it’s just always there.”
