Coca-Cola releases 1st new permanent flavor in years, aimed at younger audience
A new flavor of Coke is on its way to store shelves soon.
The Coca-Cola Company has announced that a new permanent flavor of soda, Coca-Cola Spiced, is being added to the lineup.
The new Coca-Cola Spiced will offer “a unique alchemy of our iconic cola, raspberry and spiced flavors,” according to the official website, and will be available in both zero-sugar and standard varieties.
While Coca-Cola occasionally released new temporary flavors of its famous soda, this new permanent variety joins a small list, with the cherry and vanilla flavors being the only long-lasting spins on the Coca-Cola Classic formula.
According to CNN, the Spiced flavor is designed to appeal to a younger demographic, and inspired by sodas with strong fruit flavors like Poppi.
Sue Lynne Cha, Coke’s vice president of marketing for North America, told CNN that Coca-Cola Spiced will appeal to customers who are after bolder, punchier flavors.
Coca-Cola Spiced will go on sale starting Feb. 19 at retailers nationwide.
