Dave Matthews performs at Love Rocks NYC!, a Benefit Concert for God’s Love We Deliver at the Beacon Theatre on Thursday, March 12, 2020 in New York.

Dave Matthews is playing live from his home tonight for a good cause.

The singer-songwriter will play a 30-minute set starting at 8 p.m. that will be shown via Verizon’s Twitter account and also on Yahoo.

The streamed set is the first from Pay it Forward Live, a weekly eight-part streaming entertainment series that will include music, gaming, comedy and more in support of small businesses affected by covid-19, according to Verizon.

To help small businesses that have closed to fight spread of covid-19, Verizon will donate $2.5 million to Local Initiatives Support Corporation, a national nonprofit that has invested $20 billion to fuel economic opportunity for people and communities across America, according to a release.

During the series, viewers are encouraged to tag their favorite local businesses and make a purchase in advance for when the coronavirus crisis is over and the businesses reopen. As consumers engage, Verizon will unlock an additional $2.5 million in funds, bringing the total donation to a potential $5 million.
