Taylor Swift plays 'The Man' in new video with The Rock cameo
Taylor Swift’s new music video is must watch for a lot of reasons.
The video for “The Man,” the fourth single from Swift’s album “Lover,” sees the pop star play a male character, “The Man.” The character appears to be a wealthy businessman who enjoys going out on his yacht and frequenting strip clubs, as such scenes play out through the video.
One of the most striking moments comes at the end, when the shooting of “The Man” video is stopped and Swift comes out from the director’s chair and coaches “The Man” character, who is voiced by actor and former wrestler Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. The ending scene essentially sees Swift interacting with herself.
During the credits, photos show Swift becoming “The Man” through an extensive make-up process.
The video was written and directed by Swift.
Congrats my friend! ????
My pleasure to voice THE MAN.
What a transformation and more importantly, great message about women’s equality and the importance of straight up being kind and good to people.
Next we sing our duet. You bring the guitar, I’ll bring the tequila
