Taylor Swift attends the premiere of “Taylor Swift: Miss Americana” at the Eccles Theater during the 2020 Sundance Film Festival on Thursday, Jan. 23, 2020, in Park City, Utah.

Taylor Swift won’t be taking the stage for the rest of the year.

The pop star announced Friday afternoon that she would be canceling her shows for the rest of 2020 because of the coronavirus.

“Fighting COVID-19 is an unprecedented challenge for our global community and the safety and wellbeing of fans should always be the top priority. Health organizations and governments around the world have strongly discouraged large public gatherings for an undetermined period of time. With many events throughout the world already cancelled, and upon direction from health officials in an effort to keep fans safe and help prevent the spread of COVID-19, sadly the decision has been made to cancel all Taylor Swift live appearances and performances this year,” a statement read on Swift’s website.

Swift was set to play concerts from the end of June to the beginning of August internationally and in the U.S., with the last scheduled dates for “Lover Fest,” in support of her new album of the same name, at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles and Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Mass.

According to the statement, U.S. and Brazil shows will be rescheduled for 2021, with dates to be announced later this year. Tickets for those shows will transfer to a new show date without action on the part of ticket holders.

Refunds for “Lover Fest” shows will be available starting May 1 subject to Ticketmaster terms, the statement said.

It’s not known if Swift had any other tour dates after August that were not announced.
