Photos: Post Malone leaves Star Lake crowd saying 'Wow'
Rapper Post Malone performed Wednesday night at the Pavilion at Star Lake in Burgettstown.
The nearly sold out pavilion maintained its high energy from the beginning, with the opener Beach Fossils.
The “If Y’all Weren’t Here, I’d Be Crying” tour opened with a string ensemble and dramatic stage lights. In a burst of sparks and lights, Malone appeared to perform his first song “Better Now” to a crowd of screaming fans. He continued with the very popular “Wow” as electric blue lighting and cool-toned visuals were displayed around him.
Between songs, Malone teased his new album, “Austin,” which is set to release July 28.
Many fans were moved by the artist’s performance, some were even visibly in tears as he thanked the crowd for attending the concert.
Fans and those working the event also took notice of Malone’s wardrobe. He wore a black T-shirt complete with the logo of Wawa — a convenience store fixture in eastern Pennsylvania.
The shirt caused a stir in the crowd, with Western Pennsylvanians being strong supporters of Sheetz, a well-known competitor. The convenience store even took to social outlets to address the shirt, adding an image of the rapper with the Sheetz logo covering Wawa’s logo.
“Gotta say, that shirt looks much Better Now,” they added, a nod to the artist’s song.
To take it a step further, Sheetz has since sent made-to-order “cooler swag” to the rapper.
