My Chemical Romance announce U.S. tour
My Chemical Romance has announced a U.S. tour, their first in almost a decade.
The band will play 17 shows in the U.S., with the first show coming Sept. 9 at Little Caesars Arena in Detroit. MCR will wrap up the tour Oct. 11 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. The band will also play Riot Fest in Chicago, Music Midtown in Atlanta and Aftershock Festival in Sacramento, Calif., as part of the U.S. tour.
No Pittsburgh show was announced, so closest option from Western Pennsylvania would be Philadelphia on Sept. 18 at Wells Fargo Center.
Tickets for non-festival shows go on sale Friday at noon.
The band played its first show since reuniting on Dec. 20 at Shrine Expo Hall. Before that, they had not played a show since May 19, 2012, at Bamboozle in Asbury Park, N.J.
The announcement came via a video on there YouTube channel entitled “A summoning…”
The announcement video had as many as 85,000 viewers watching when MCR’s channel streamed the video.
