Move over Thanksgiving, Christmas music is here
Face it: Once the last kid leaves your porch with Halloween candy, it’s Christmas season.
Oh, you can try to cover yourself in all things Thanksgiving until after turkey day. But we all know the truth. And streaming music stations know it too.
They’re already playing it.
SiriusXM officially launched its holiday spirit last week with its lineup of annual channels — 26 of them.
Most of your tried and trues are back, but there are a few new ones this season. The channels feature fan-favorite Christmas tracks spanning decades and genres.
New this season is Trans-Siberian Orchestra Radio. The rock-meets-classical group has its own channel this year with holiday classics through electric guitar. The band’s Christmas discography, concert recordings and original shows hosted by band members will be featured.
Then there’s Sleep Christmas, the channel that helps you drift off to dreamland, obviously to have visions of sugarplums dance through your head. Plainly put: It’s meditative versions of classic Christmas melodies.
Both of those two are exclusive to the app.
Here’s SiriusXM’s full lineup of holiday channels.
Aside from SiriusXM, iHeartRadio has plenty of holiday channels to keep you tuned into the season. And you can always find your Christmas playlist on Spotify. Or even AccuRadio.
And 3WS will launch its 24th season of 24-hour holiday songs sometime around Pittsburgh’s annual Light Up Night. The station is available on your FM dial (94.5) or through iHeart.
