Glass City Swing Band to kick off Derry Area summer concerts

A series of five Friday evening concerts featuring a variety of performers is planned this summer at the Derry Area School District Foundation Amphitheater.

The amphitheater is located near the district’s Grandview Elementary School, off Route 982 north of the Derry Township village of Bradenville.

All concerts begin at 6:30 p.m. Donations will be accepted.

The schedule includes:

• June 14 — Glass City Swing Band

• June 28 — Neil Diamond tribute by Chris Denem

• July 12 — Blairsville Community Band

• July 26 — Summer Band/Kiski Valley Community Band

• Aug. 9 — NOMaD (North Of Mason-Dixon) guitarist and vocalist Jay Pfeifer

Food will be available to purchase from the following food trucks: Rosemary’s Pizza — June 14 and 28; Speals on Wheels — July 12 and 26, Aug. 9; Konas Ice — July 26.

In case of inclement weather, concerts will move to Grandview Elementary’s multiple purpose room.
