Earth, Wind & Fire start out asking “do you remember,” but could anyone really forget?

Those words start the legendary funk band’s hit “September.” On an annual basis, the band and fans celebrate Earth, Wind & Fire day on Sept. 21, the date referenced in the song.

The date was when singer Maurice White’s son, Kahbran, was supposed to be born in 1978, according to a Wall Street Journal story.

The song, released in November 1978, peaked at No1. on Billaboard’s rhythm and blues / hip-hop songs chart and No. 8 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

It’s the 21st of September, so I have to repost this jewel from my family’s annual Christmas videos. A classic by the icons @EarthWindFire! ✨pic.twitter.com/UBE2ibnxDj

Because it's the 21st of September, does this mean I can play Earth, Wind and Fire all day without judgement? pic.twitter.com/nvJOgfmxWf
