Bushy Run Battlefield Heritage Society Inc. will resume its open air market on May 25, continuing each fourth Saturday of the month through Sept. 28.
The Bushy Run Market will host a variety of artisans and vendors, while encouraging those attending to visit the grounds of the battlefield, site of a historic 1763 battle between British and Native American forces.
A slightly new presentation this year will feature market vendors grouped thematically according to their wares. The hope is to expand the variety of participants, site officials say.
These groups will include general artisans and local vendors, historical vendors and individuals selling antiques and related items.
“We are thrilled to be hosting the Bushy Run Market again this season with a new format,” says Rob Malley, heritage society volunteer and market organizer.
“The market represents Bushy Run’s mission to expand community engagement and offers yet another option for people to enjoy our beautiful park,” he says.
Each market day, gates will open at 7 a.m. for vendors and 8 a.m. for guests, closing at noon.
Vendors may reserve a space for all five market days for $50. Individual market day vendor reservations are $20.
Vendor requests can be made through market@bushyrunbattlefield.com.
Live animals, firearms, ammunition or other explosives, contract sales (services, etc.) and third party sales are not acceptable.
Limited food items will be sold at the concession stand, and visitors will receive free coffee and tea.
The visitor center will be open for regular hours (9 a.m.-5 p.m.) with regular museum admission.
