WTAE-TV didn’t name an 11 p.m. co-anchor to sit alongside Mike Clark when the station announced an anchor realignment in February, but now they have with the hiring of Kristen Powers.
She’ll join Clark, chief meteorologist Mike Harvey and sports director Andrew Stockey on Channel 4’s late newscast the last week of June.
Powers was most recently at WJLA-TV in Washington. She joined that ABC affiliate as a weekday morning reporter in June 2019.
Prior to her stint in Washington, Powers worked as an anchor/reporter in Bakersfield, Calif., at the Sinclair-owned CBS/Fox duopoly stations.
Powers holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Marquette University in her hometown of Milwaukee, Wis., and a master’s degree in broadcast and digital journalism from Syracuse University.
