One way or another, WWE is putting on WrestleMania 36 this weekend.

WWE executive and wrestler Paul “Triple H” Levesque talked with ESPN’s Ariel Helwani about going forward with WWE’s biggest event of the year amid the coronavirus pandemic.

“We feel like it’s necessary. Cancellation or postponement was obviously considered, but we feel like it’s an obligation for us,” Levesque said. “Our fans have been there for us for years and years and years, and we want to be for them. And in this time, where everybody is just doing their best to get through this and kind of stuck home, the world needs entertainment right now.”

WrestleMania 36 will be shown Saturday and Sunday, starting at 7 p.m. both nights. The event takes place from WWE’s Performance Center in Orlando and there have been reports that most, if not all, of the show has been taped ahead of time.

“We will make it the spectacle it needs to be, and that we can, to the best of our ability, but we’ll give people something to be entertained by,” Levesque said.

WWE Champion Brock Lesnar vs. Drew McIntyre, John Cena vs. “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt, Raw Women’s Champion Becky Lynch vs. Shayna Baszler, The Undertaker vs. AJ Styles, and Edge vs Randy Orton are among some of the matches scheduled for WrestleMania 36.
