Latrobe Fire Department’s Goodwill Hose Company No. 1 will holds its annual fair Monday through Saturday at the fire station, at Alexandria and Oak streets.

The event, held from 5 to 11 p.m. each day, has been a Latrobe tradition for more than a century. It includes bingo, games and food. Carnival rides, set up in the adjacent First Ward Playground, are provided by Tropical Amusements.

The food served by the department, including hamburgers and hot sausage, is a major draw, according to Latrobe Fire Chief John Brasile. “Everything is home-cooked,” he said. “Our french fries have been a big thing for years.”

Homemade pierogies are featured only on Thursday.

“You’ve got to get there early to get them,” said Brasile. “They sell like crazy.”
