The Pittsburgh skyline gets a starring role in the trailer for Netflix’s filmed-in-Western Pennsylvania Jason Momoa thriller “Sweet Girl,” available on the streaming service Aug. 20, the same day filmed-in-Pittsburgh limited comedy series “The Chair” debuts on Netflix.
Locations spotted in the movie’s trailer include PPG Place, PNC Park, McConnell’s Mill, the T and Point State Park.
Momoa stars in “Sweet Girl” as Ray Cooper, who seeks justice from a pharmaceutical company after the company pulls a life-saving drug from market, leading to the death of Cooper’s wife (Adria Arjona) from cancer. When Ray and daughter Rachel (Isabela Merced) are threatened, Ray seek’s vengeance in his “fight for family.”
Brian Andrew Mendoza (Momoa’s “Frontier”) directed “Sweet Girl,” which filmed locally in late 2019 also stars Justin Bartha, Amy Brenneman, Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, Raza Jaffrey, Lex Scott Davis and Michael Raymond-James.
