Ross Township commissioners on Monday honored four recently retired police officers for their years of service to the community.

The honorees were Lt. Al Hribik, Sgt. Sam Comport, Ofc. Mike Thomas and Ofc. Barry Clifford.

Officials noted that the four officers who were recognized amassed more than 120 years of combined experience in law enforcement.

The awards were presented by Chief Joe Ley; Commissioner Jack Betkowski, who chairs the township’s public safety committee; and board President Steve Korbel.

During the same meeting, the commissioners approved the hiring of five new officers: Nathan S. Roy, Christopher Shortley, Troy Modrak, Kevin Novak and Jason Gilotty.

The five new officers each were hired by unanimous vote by the board.
