Former Steelers linebacker Myles Jack arrested on felony firearms charge in Texas

Myles Jack, a former Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker, is facing firearms charges after being arrested Tuesday in Frisco, Texas.

According to a Frisco Police Department news release, officers responded to a welfare check at 5:40 a.m. Tuesday and heard gunshots from inside a residence. Officers set up a perimeter and evacuated nearby residences. They then observed a second-story window break and the suspect, who was later identified as Jack, climb out and fall to the ground, according to the release.

Jack, 30, was taken into custody at 7:12 a.m. and transported to a local hospital, where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

No one else was inside the residence, police said.

Denton County Sheriff’s Office charged Jack with deadly conduct-discharge of a firearm, a third-degree felony. He also was charged with a misdemeanor for discharging a firearm.

Jack spent two seasons with the Steelers, playing 18 games from 2022-23. He made 121 tackles and had one sack.

He also played six seasons with the Jacksonville Jaguars, who drafted him 36th overall in 2016.
