Trio steal Baby Jesus from Nativity in Jeannette

Jeannette police are trying to identify three people who they said took a Baby Jesus figure from a Nativity display at the amphitheater on Clay Avenue.

Investigators on Wednesday released surveillance images of the trio who they said removed the figure from the cradle Monday night. Anyone with information on their identities is asked to contact police at 724-527-4013 or by calling 911.

Trib news partner WTAE reported the Baby Jesus figure had been returned to the Nativity scene on Wednesday evening. No charges had been filed.


Boyce and South Park to open for winter fun

Boyce Park’s winter facilities and South Park Ice Rink are expected to open Saturday, Allegheny County officials announced.

At Boyce Park, there will be skiing, snowboarding and snow tubing, weather and conditions permitting. Some slopes will remain closed.

Maintenance repairs are ongoing at North Park Ice Rink, which will be delayed in opening.
