Pennsylvania is one of the states affected by a recall of Ritz Peanut Butter Cracker Sandwiches that may be incorrectly labeled “Cheese.”
Anyone with an allergy or severe sensitivity to peanuts may risk serious or life-threatening allergic reactions by consuming this product, the company’s announcement on the U.S. Food & Drug Administration website said.
Mondelēz Global LLC announced Friday the voluntary recall of 70 cases of the cracker sandwiches sold at a limited number of retailers in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Georgia, Arkansas, Missouri, Oklahoma and Alabama.
The individually wrapped packs may be what’s incorrectly labeled, the company said. All outer cartons affected are labeled correctly and include an allergen advisory.
Specifically, the recall affects the 27.6 oz. RITZ Peanut Butter Cracker Sandwiches in 20 Count (20 x 1.38-oz. 6-pack carton) with the UPC number 44000 07584 2.
They have the best when used by dates of Jan. 8, 2026, and Jan. 15, 2026, with the plant code “AE,” which is located on top of the package.
Other Ritz cracker sandwich products are not affected, according to the recall.
Mondelēz Global LLC said there have been no reports of injury or illness related to the mislabeling, and the recall was issued out of an abundance of caution.
