A Missouri teen driving a stolen pickup hit a truck and backed into a state police vehicle while trying to flee a traffic stop in Washington County on Tuesday, according to state police.

State police said Kemari Kerney Flowers, 19, of Saint Peters, Mo. was arrested and would be charged with receiving stolen property, fleeing and eluding, aggravated assault and criminal mischief.

According to state police, officers encountered a 2019 Ford F-150 reported stolen from Missouri on East Buffalo Church Road in Buffalo Township, Washington County.

Police initiated a traffic stop, but the vehicle sped off, beginning a pursuit.

The pickup hit a tractor-trailer while trying to get on westbound Interstate 70 at the Taylorstown interchange, state police said. It then stopped on the interstate and backed into a state police vehicle.

Flowers was taken into custody without further incident, and no injuries were reported, according to state police.
