Enrollment at the University of Pittsburgh’s Oakland campus has increased by roughly 4%, according to data released Wednesday.
Pitt reports more than 31,200 students attending the campus this fall, an increase from 29,927 last fall.
Of those, about 21,380 are undergraduates, about 1,000 more than last fall; and 9,849 are graduate students, about 300 more than last fall.
Pitt has experienced enrollment growth at its Oakland campus since the fall 2022 semester. The Pittsburgh campus had its largest graduating class ever last spring.
Pitt received a record 65,000 applications for the fall 2025 term, and Chancellor Joan Gabel said during Friday’s Board of Trustees meeting that officials expect another large application pool for next fall.
To accommodate the large class, Pitt housed 400 students in off-campus apartments and a hotel in Oakland and converted some on-campus facilities to make way for 300 beds.
Enrollment at Pitt-Greensburg remained stable with 1,312 undergraduates enrolled, which is 7 more than last year; and Pitt-Johnstown reported 1,829 undergraduates this fall, 20 more than last year, according to the data.
The Bradford campus reported 1,094 undergraduates this fall, about 90 more than last year; Titusville also reported a 20-student increase this year from 36 to 56 students.
