A Pittsburgh man was arrested in relation to the stabbing incident that occurred near Frankie Pace Park Sunday.

Kevin Jenkins, 51, is facing multiple felony charges of aggravated assault, as well as misdemeanor charges of recklessly endangering another person.

After being released from the hospital, Jenkins was transported to the Allegheny County Jail, police said.

A couple said they were stabbed by a man who demanded money from them in the Downtown Pittsburgh park Sunday night, according to police.

Officers went to Bigelow Square at Chatham Street for the reported stabbing just before 8 p.m.

A man and a woman told officers they were in the adjacent Frankie Pace Park, over I-579, when a man approached them demanding money. When the couple refused, the man stabbed them, police said.

The man suffered wounds to his chin and leg while the woman had a superficial wound to an arm, police said. They were taken to a hospital in stable condition.

The suspect was detained at the scene, police said. He suffered wounds to a leg and was taken to a hospital, also in stable condition.
